I'm glad to be back though.

[She looks up, just for a couple of seconds, a little surprised at that]

Yeah? It's still the same shitehole.

[A shrug. The city made more sense to him, right then.]

What do you feel like?

[Her hands are firmly in her pockets]

[She stops in front of the door, and looks him in the eye]

I don' expect anythin' from yeh. Whatever me feelin's are for yeh, I don' need yeh to return them.

I'd like yeh to like me. That would be fuckin' ideal. I'd like yeh to want me; that would be good too.

[She frowns, a little]

Me feelin's haven' changed. And yeh weren' supposed to know, but that's the break and that's the misfortune. But if yeh're afraid that it's because I'll get hurt, or because I'll get killed - I can watch me own, yeh know. I'm not a fuckin' fool.

[He turns quiet for a while, before reaching round to pull open the door. The conversation wasn't over; he was just buying himself more thinking time.]

[She goes in, and sits down, and doesn't say anything]

[he takes a seat across from her and offers over a menu. Another one is pulled out as a distraction for himself]

[She takes a menu, and reads, and waits. Eventually he has to say something.]

[It's not until after their orders are taken that he finally talks again. He isn't looking at her yet though.]

A lot happened when I went home. Things have...changed. And I don't know what I want anymore.

[She takes a deep breath]

Yeah. Isn't that always the shite.

[There's a wry laugh]

The one thing I do know is that you're one of the few people here I really do give a damn about. I don't want that to change.

[She just looks at him]
